about

Signal Repeater is the latest fully realized album by Jonathon Ferris. Americana put through a Michigan post-industrial filter. The songs on this album span the past seven years. Some of the tracks were originally part of the Polar Vortex series, or appear on You Can't Fake Your Way Through This. However those tracks are raw striped down versions of the songs.

Here Jonathon revisited some of these songs to give them their proper time to shine in the sunlight... or rather the moonlight.
This album is made for night time driving, especially for nights where one finds oneself driving by theirselves in the late night hours.
Almost all the recording, mixing and mastering was done after sundown, going late into the night (or early morning).

Good nights, bad nights, and all shades in between; with time on the road to think it all through. Driving pass signal towers with their slow blinking red lights, while the moon makes way across the sky. Blasting the music from the iPod through the stereo, or listening to nothing but the road noise.

America, here is your night time driving Americana album.

Down to earth, but street smart, a small town boy who loves the big city, he can spot a Packard at 100 yards, and tell you what's growing in that farmers field. ... more
